Art is subjective. If the artist put work into the picture and intended to make artwork, it's art.

Not so much.
Take sprite base, change colors, post as own art = not art.
There are exceptions.

Well, if you rip off something made by someone else, it's not your art, it's their art that you edited.
I was referring more to people who say things like anime and photography aren't art.

I'd agree with you on those grounds. I've yet to meet someone who's said that to me, however, for which I'm very thankful.

i just got harrassed by someone a few days ago saying that my fanart and fancharacters were not art :no: but its not stolen and it came from my own head :3 in the end this guy is banned c: thus fanart IS art 83
once all of this DA drama is over with and i get a subby someday ill use this x3
